In a narrative one must first be able to understand visually a series of images known as a sequence. From there the viewer must decide and understand where the story begins and ends. This comes with understanding time shifts that take place through out the narrative structure. The panels act as two ideas “attention units” and “narrative unit”. There are also 5 basic narrative categories establisher, initial, prolongation, peak, and release. These categories create this idea called a phrase. This is the beginning of the basic understanding of a narrative structure.
