PROJECT TOPIC RESEARCH: BARE
Bare is a company that believes being comfortable in your own skin and being yourself. Many organizations advocate this topic as well as many topics that advocate being okay in your own skin. Here are some examples that I found.
Breastfeeding in public: Many women are shamed for breastfeeding there hungry child in public. Huffington post writes an article talking about being a mother and the process of breastfeeding and how women should not be shamed for feeding their child in public. This is a quote that the article said “if you don’t support breastfeeding in public, you don’t support breastfeeding.” This was the argument that Huggington post was trying to make. That breastfeeding your baby in public is better and more healthy than baby formula (which is expensive) and better than the breast pump which is more for working women who can not tend to their child. Below is an ad campaign of women feeding their child in a dirty public restroom because people shame them for doing it in public. Women and Men should not shame or be ashamed of feeding a child in public and should be more comfterable in their own skin.
Women Rights Movement: The women’s right movement is actually a movement that empowers women and men to have equal rights for all men and women. The more I researched about this cause the more I saw how it tells women to stand up for them self and empowers others to be strong. As women it’s important to be proud for who you are, how hard you work, being a women. This is also a great moment that tells little girls at a young age to be proud as girl, to know she is pretty, that she is strong. This is a great movement that supports being proud of who you are as a women.
Black Lives Matter– This is a moment that is freedom and justice for black lives. Black lives matters carries protests against police killings of black people and broader issues of racial profiling, police brutality, and racial inequality in the United States justice system.
