Process
I added a mother hugging her sleeping baby into the picture.
In the original, a pregnant woman is giving birth, but the skull of the baby is next to her, and the other three women are mourning. I wanted to create a contrast between two mothers and two babies. The image of the mother holding the baby is from another work of the painter, and that image shows love and peace between a mom and her baby, so different from this one.
The atmosphere in these two images are so different, that let people think about love and life and death. I wanted to create the effect of people thinking deeply about the connection between a mother and her child, and life and death, so I altered the picture in this way.
