Week 9: Long Life Design business practices

1)

Ketti tea seems fulfill “sales”,” manufacturing”, “function”, “safety”, “user”, “environment”, and “design” of the Long Life Design criteria. The owner of the shop have a passion in bring the best tea from Japan to the world. The concept of this store is also to introduce the life style and the organic feeling to the customers. The tools sold in the store (pot, cup, bowl etc) are really easy and safe to use, and the selling of matcha and tea symbols a natural life style and life attitude which will make people rethink of the life they are in. The tools are very pretty and environmentally friendly. They won’t sell large amount of tea or match, so I think it won’t consume lots of resources.

2)

I think it will fulfill “repair”, and “planned production” in the next ten years. Through the years, Ketti tea will definitely find out the method to repair their products if they are broken. They maybe add a new service: Teapot repairing. In the future, the owner will figure out how many products should he produce every season to fit the need of the customers. Now the amount of the items in the store is not big, but maybe the owner will expend the store in ten years to let more people know Japan’s finest tea and tea tools.
