For my mycelium project, I decided to make a reusable mold for a mycelium slipper. This slipper would be available online as a 3d model, that can easily be downloaded for 3d printing. The idea is that by being able to print a mold and use mycelium (and kambucha optionally for the straps) people can avoid buying cheap flip flops made of plastic that generate waste. Flip flops are regarded as a massive cause threat to the environment as they are the most disposed of shoe in existence. This method of being able to print a mold, would create an autonomous process allowing for an environmentally safe means of replacing these slippers.
