“Touchless” is a self-portrait piece made with my casted fingertips. My castings are placed on an iridescent surface and are reflected with another iridescent acrylic plate. Inspired by the stress of the pandemic, they reflect feeling isolated, out of reach, and divided from the rest. It has become normal to feel out of touch – we reach out to something that isn’t really there. I wanted to play with illusion to make the viewer wonder, “what is real, and what is not?”.
