My final project ended up being a commentary on the fact that the original ad was sexist and unnecessarily sexual. I created this faucet with model magic, a small plastic tube, and even smaller plastic (almost catheter-like) tubes that went through the actual penis to create a working water flow.
I wanted the faucet to be a literal penis because of how obvious and inappropriate the original ad was. I originally prototyped the design with play-dough and then I created it with the model magic, etc., and then painted it silver to resemble more of an actual silver faucet. As you can see, originally the handles of the faucet were going to be a woman’s legs wrapped around the faucet, but then I changed my idea so that the handles were actually the balls. In the end I was very happy with what I came up with.
