Final Field Research Poster

The final research poster.

As wicked problems consume our worlds, specifically our facilities, it is vital that now more than ever, humans make an cooperative effort with an effective and innovative system to promote sustainable environmental practices. Through the hustle and bustle of New York City, often times many will bypass issues that seem relatively “too massive” to make an impact. As a collaborative group, we choose to order our poster in a manner that raises awareness upon how the impact of a mild inconvenience and can further contribute to the deterioration of our environment. Waste, as it accumulates within settings such as school facilities, increases not only the majorities subconscious habits in wasteful thinking yet even worse; making it seem as if we’re below the wicked problem yet really we serve a great influence in improving our surroundings. As a group, we began to closely observe our own school facility; questioning it’s true steps towards environmental change. Thus, we focused primarily upon the New School’s dormitory hall waste systems as each member of our group had been observing the slow downfall of the current ineffective system. As we conducted a number of interviews and accumulated responses from those living in the dorm halls, within our poster, we synthesized the information to one conversational dialogue; capturing the rising awareness of this issue. Further into our data analysis, we gathered a number of statistics that served as validation to our reasonings and conclusions for selecting this particular systematic flaw. As a group, our main goal of creating this poster is to help students realize how big of an impact they serve in the state of our current world. Finalizing our information, we as a whole came to the conclusion that it is the matter of the student as well as an impactful facilitated waste system that both play a massive role in promoting positive environmental practices. It is through our approaches and conscious actions that we will gain the opportunity to move towards a more sustainable way of thinking, living and impacting our world as we seek the need for change.
