Final Presentation
Through researching and experiencing the High Line for my midterm report I realized that on nice days especially there is a strong need for more seating. I created a seating area on the High Line that can be easily added anywhere to promote people experiencing the beautiful space collaboratively and privately.
Final Reflection: In what ways did you to grow over the course of this semester studio?
Over the semester I learned so many new ways to research and understand spaces. I learned and realized that the best way to understand and research a space is to visit it many times. You can read all you want but if you don’t actually go experience the place you won’t know what it is really like. I had never really thought about how big of an impact experiencing a space can have on you and how many ideas you can pull from those experiences. I also learned many technical aspects like how to draw site maps and section drawings because I never had before. I tried to push myself out of the box this semester by experiencing the High Line in as many ways as I could through the class assignments so that I could create the most thoughtful work and designs possible. I grew a lot through the amount I learned this semester in studio and I am really proud of the work I created.
