W6 Reading Response

Field Notes from the Anthropocene: Living in the Back Loop brings up an interesting idea of back loop from the author’s honeymoon experience of visiting Miami. C.S. Holling describe the adaptive cycle as “back loop”. Human being followed this path on earth and our society and civilization changes over time.

In fact there are some unexpected things happening in the world. The sea level rise does not match narratively before. When we still look for the law of nature, we are already step into the new world.

In another article Destituent Power and Common Use: Reading Agamben in the Anthropocene, the author address the idea that life is a human replete with politics, hubris, creativity, action, imagination and transformative potential. The environment and human civilization process are tightly connected. We need to begin from where we are, in and with our worlds, where nothing is missing.
