Colorwalk

I chose to focus on the color yellow during my color walk. I felt that yellow would stick out to me more because unlike other colors like red or blue, it is not as prominent. Along St Marks St. there were many stands selling anything from grinders to pipes, all the way to costume wigs,  sunglasses, and earrings. Amidst the clustered rainbow of cheaply made artifacts, pops of yellow stuck out and captured my eye, apparently yellow is not such a rare color after all. People strolled down the streets as yellow taxi cabs zoomed past them, in a hurry to get to their next destination. The sidewalks were lined with fun novelty shops which in one case, included an old Zoltar game where Zoltar wore a bright silk yellow blouse under a vest. There were shirts hung out with yellow Buddhas’ and golden-yellow chains resting directly below them. Most of the things I saw were primarily man-made or machine-made items but a couple times I saw some yellow sewage water sitting in puddles along the edge of the sidewalk. The main thing I noticed was that yellow was a color used primarily for entertainment purposes while other primary colors served for more practical uses such as red for a firetruck, or blue for a police car.
