For the Project 1b, the task was to create a compostion documenting visual and textual representions of the passage of time of an assigned timeframe. This time, I had to determine my own set of guidelines and limitation, which was selecting number of elements that I wish to focus on as I walk from certain point to another point and express my experience of the passing of time in that work.
The walk I had was from World trade Center to 23rd street and I chose to focus on my sight, the signs on the street I see and the observation of the people and the hearing. Although it was quite long walk, I figured out that things I notice repeated as I walked, like people jay walking, honking and me looking at the signs to keep track of where am I and where should I go. I wanted to reflect these observation of repeatedness in the map and decided to make a tessellation I learned in Drawing and Imaging class.
