Butter nut squash puree

–       Fair trade squash

–       Provide workers sick time

–       Butternut squash peel as a forage for animals

–       Butternut squash peel as a compost for farms

–       Replace electric power to natural powers like solar panels and wind mills

Use butternut squash peel as ingredient for natural dye

By using the waste made by producing butternut puree I reduced the process of burning or dumping waste and related air/soil pollution.

 

1. c)

Although the main focus I had in this activity was to not to ‘create waste’ in the first hand or at least ‘reduce waste’ by coming up with ways to reuse and recycle materials, I believe this eventually leads to increase in overall profit in terms of price and society. By using ingredient from head to toe, or fruits to peels, I am lessening the overall costs and also creating possibility of new works for people.

Without being marketing expert, I may not know the exact price related to all the processes, but I am confident that the innovations I came up with made a step nearer to the true cost of the commodities. Since last class, the notion stuck in my mind is to ‘reduce waste’ or to ‘not create waste’ both in terms of using the commodities and creating art pieces. With these notion, I tried to make innovations in terms of reducing and reusing resources and wastes. I am not definite how much costs in terms of money will they lessen, but again, I am confident that they will lessen the dissipation of unnecessary resources.
