I would like to research mobile phone technology and maker culture trends as they relate to this domain. From this research I will develop a process to aid in the average user’s knowledge and role in their own mobile technology. I would like to research the effect of gamification on our motivation and how this applies to undesirable tasks. From this research I will create an experience that promotes good habits. I would like to explore the effect of real time feedback and interpretation on our comprehension of complex data. This exploration will be realized as an installation.
A workshop and accompanying website that teaches individuals how to build design their own phones. An installation that promotes good habits (ie, healthy lifestyles, cleaning the environment, etc). Create an installation that uses light to track represent the effects of daylight savings on the economy or the effect of daylight on our energy consumption.
An instructable to build one’s own radio receiver and transmitter from scratch. An app that helps people accomplish goals/conquer procrastination by breaking down the tasks in steps and rewarding the completion of those steps. A set of trash and recycling cans that alter a depiction of the earth based on the contents of the can.
A youtube tutorial on how to make frankenstein phone composed of parts from all major smartphones currently on the market. An email application that helps people reply to emails in a timely manner. An audio installation that employs audio pollution to chronicle environmental pollution.
