FILM GENRE & BIG PICTURE:
We create our story as a Greek tragedy. The big picture message of our film is about the main character who is torn among her dignity, her love for her family, her country, and for her lover.
MAIN CHARACTER & MAIN PLOT:
The main character of our movie is named Athenus. She is very passionate, connected to her roots, she believes her values of bringing back her family’s honor is more important than the municipal rules which prevents women’s equality to join the army and fight for their country. Thus, he pretends to be a man in order to join the army. Her lover is Amos, who is the leader of the force. His ambition attracts everyone. He looks like a very strong macho from the outside but he is very sensitive on the inside.
The movie is about a love story, a revenge story, and at the same time a story about a feminist fighting for equal rights. The story starts with the main character, Athenus. She is determent to revenge for her dad who died in a battle with the enemy and to bring back the family’s honor. She pretends to be a man and joins the “Gorykotas” army. Unexpectedly, she falls in love with Amos, the leader of the army. Then the conflicts between the two characters erupts; Athenus and Amos discovers that she is pregnant and at that moment he demand her to go back home. But Athenus doesn’t want to go home since of her commitment to bring back the family’s honor and self dignity that root in her mind from the very beginning and also because of her true love for him.

- The poster is generally in a black and white hue. We also want to use the similar color hue in our poster to show one of the figures who is in purpose to be shown in an unclear way. Also, it seems that the patterns by black ink are painted randomly, but they really show messages. In our poster, we will have one figure looks unclear in details, but through it’s shape we want to show some specific information about the figure.

- We chose this poster especially because of the composition of the characters. We want our main character to be featured from the front and her lover/ alter ego/ avatar to be from the back in order to create abstraction and multiple meanings to the figure. Also, we liked the lines of the drawing which are modern and also correspond to greek art and art nouveau.

- We decided to choose this poster since the color palette of strong red, light pink, black, white and grey are the colors that we want to use in our poster. In addition there is a special texture to the poster which we found interesting. We think we might also use some of the abstract shapes as an inspiration for the background.
OUR STYLE STATEMENT:
Our goal is to combine both modern(colors) and ancient Greek style (simple and clear drawings with lines, and a few complex decoration patterns).
We want to focus on one scene (the most important scene, the scene when the conflict in our movie reaches its peak) in our story about the main character, Athenus. The style of our poster is inspired by art nouveau drawings and some greek style decoration patterns. The color is going to be black and white and colors inspired by greek mythology paintings such as light blue, light pink and red which corresponds with the love theme and the motive of the rose flower in our movie.
We want to focus on the main character, Athenus, while creating a dramatic mood combining the love aspect on our movie. Our goal is to show the love story while also focusing on the gender aspect and on Athenus ambition to fulfill her mission.
