The Matrix

For its timeĀ The Matrix was a groundbreaking sci-fi film with graphics that impressed many people of its era. After doing some research I found that ‘bullet time’ was a idea created in this movie and popularized. The cinematography and choreography of the movie as a whole was imposing. But to me the most enjoyable aspect was the collision of religion/ philosophy and technology. The relationship between the two is often portrayed as contradictory- its one or the other- but in the Matrix they have a more symbiotic relationship. The philosophical influences are seen rooted in the film, people only seeing the truth if they wish to, ideas about the perfect utopia, and the illusion of our day to day lives.
