I’m hispanic of Mexican descent, so the Spanish spoken in Volver isn’t what I’m used to, but I was still able to understand it for the most part. Coming from this background I can say I grew up with women that remind me of the ones in Volver. Unfortunately I can say the same about the men. The female presence in familiar relations is strong in this family, its really all they are. A few generations of women sticking together through everything. While I can’t relate to the murder and corpse disposal issues, I can to the amount of drama.
