Summary
In this video, children are introduced to the design process with more involvement than ever before. I am particularly intrigued by this video because I too am working to create a better environment for children. From the very beginning their ideas are heard and taken seriously, despite the far fetched nature of some of them. The kids bring up new and alternative ideas that will help make cities/ public spaces that are more child friendly/ considerate. They took the desires and needs of children to make the community more accessible to them and other people that have not before been considered.
Summary
In this video, an artist focuses in the revitalization of his neighborhood. He uses his practice to engage the community with these abandoned spaces and then uses the exposure to his advantage and turns it into a real community space that receives funds based on this new light that it’s being shined upon. I think this is a great example of the people of the community being involved in city development because he is a idealistic local, and his work is meant to inspire conversation and imagination. He truly is working for the people and making the community better without being imposing.
