Seminar Kit – Bridge Five “What I’m taking with me”

Home

One of our first assignments was the home map. A group project first, then individual. It helped me think about data visualization. Something that we had been learning in Studio that we carried over to Seminar. It was challenging to try and organize information in a different way, and I think that it is something that I’m going to try and take with me into future courses.

My map is made to start and guide the conversation of home by providing initial concepts and questions that are asked in the articles. The connect in the questions they ask about home, how its made or lost or what it takes to create one.

Sticky Notes

Writing essays for me has always been a straight forward thing. I create and outline with the rights parts then I write. Thinking about the separate ideas and how they relate to each other was something that I did more so when I was looking at them on sticky notes. While it was a kind of challenging way to write an essay and it did mess with the order of my essay, I feel like it was still important to see my ideas presented in a different manner that I can play with. While it is still a process that I can improve, it is one that I think will help me for the better.

Annotated Bibliography

Even though I may have stopped keeping up with my annotated bibliography (sorry), the resources I do have are there when I need them. Looking back at the very first ones, I can see what we were doing and see that easily with my descriptions. It is something I should keep up with in research for anything. Writing an annotation right after I find it. Saving these for later saves time and will be something I take with me.
