Chindogu – Process

I started with three rough sketches of what my Chindogu could possibly be.

I narrowed in on the Subway shoe and began sketching and blocking in colors. The shoes needed to look as obnoxious as possible due to their impracticality and minor hazardousness.

For my low resolution prototype, I decreased the amount of suction cups due to their price and also it would help with the overall design of the shoe. I also narrowed down the amount of colors that would be on the shoe for a cleaner aesthetic.

I painted the shoes and bolted in the suction cups for maximum support. I first tried to hot glue the suction cups to the sole, but the amount of grip they produced ripped them off. In the end, the only thing that would keep all of the pieces attached was bolting them in.
