Time: Frame

Text Piece-Poster

For this poster design, because we need to show the element of time, I chose the melting clock from Salvador Dalí. I thought the melting clock can indicate the time passing. Time is always a thing that cannot be measured and does not have certain shape, so I think the melting clocks can actually represent this idea.

In my opinion, the main purpose of narrative movie is to record what happen in our world, and the key is realness. Thus, I chose to record a person’s one day life, and show what his real life looks like and what he thinks and feels. In this movie, I include some small drawings that can indicate his inner thoughts.

French Fold

For the french fold, I chose to take the city views, especially the buildings in New York city. This is the second year I live in this city. Compared to the first year, I think I am more familiar to this city, and have deeper feelings to it. So, I chose the places I often go to and take the pictures. Also, I adjust the color tone to yellow to convey the feelings of memory happened before.

Moving Text

For the moving text project, I created the text and patterns by photoshop and made them match the rhythm of the background music. For some part of the song, I use the pattern, but for some important words I chose to type them and show them on the screen. Also, in this project, I tried several techniques, which I think will be really helpful for my future studying.
