ARTIFACT
Capstone Proposal
Level: Graduate/ ESL intermediate to advanced
Language Focus: Research strategies, literature review, theses structure and reverse outline
Design Focus: Research critical analysis: deductive, inductive, abductive
Time: 4 classes of 2h 40 min. (each class 2h 15min activities + 25min. break/debrief)
Prep time: 2 hours
Lesson Description:
In this lesson, graduate students develop ideas to design an artifact inspired in research findings. The teacher introduces deductive, inductive and abductive reasoning as a research methodology for students to develop concepts. Students practice strategies to cross-reference sources in order to write an annotated bibliography and literature review that will serve as the foundation for capstone proposal writing, including rationale, abstract, and reverse outline.
