I decided to make a video that went hand in hand with my zine. For my zine, I focused on how much media exposure we control through instagram. I paralleled this concept with my own saved fashion items on instagram’s ‘saved’ feature. In my saved images, I had a folder of fashion items that were made of pvc. I know that this is a pretty big trend nowadays and I wanted to do something with these images. In my video, I have a person taking of articles of clothing starting from a thick jacket to see through clothes. Underneath the last see through garment, the last piece of clothing is a pvc top. This is a metaphor to how much we expose ourselves through media. But the extra layers represent privacy and how there are many ways to keep that privacy even on social media. For example, only you can see your messages, saved images, archived posts and stories, and you can even hide people from watching your stories. Furthermore, I for example, have a private Instagram as well. This always me to share posts to only a certain group of people I trust and am close with.
