Zohar made a really good point at the beginning of the talk when she said that in order to learn from it and drive inspiration we must know its history, and not just recent but also how it started. I didn’t know that it has been a process since before the mid 90’s that has included so many people like Thomas G. Zimmerman and Ivan Sutherland. I found it very helpful to go into depth and spend time on the talks that people who are experienced and use VR have had. Jaron Lanier, Nony de la Peña and Chris Milk were all very inspiring with their approach to VR. Jaron Lanier is simply genius and innovation and Chris and Nony are both working towards creating more empathy and awareness of the world around us. I especially liked having time to watch Chris’ TED talk because he said some very interesting things regarding frames and windows, and how not only is it about seeing the window but going beyond it and living it. Not only did he show his process from his starting point in art to create empathy but all the steps he took to step up reality and technology into pieces that speak and move people, not only inside but powerful enough to take action and be more aware. The presentation by Zohar was well informed and well organized, keeping my attention through out the slideshow and videos, I am also very interested in the topic so learning its history and understanding the implications its had to go through to work was very enriching.
