Notion of Power
Our group decided to form our map in a Venn chart because we want to emphasize the similarities, the differences and the specialties of the three articles. By looking at what they share and what they don’t, the viewer can clearly understand our intention.
I realize how Powerful photography is, which is something I never paid attention to. To think oppositely, instead of thinking people having control over photography, to think that how photos can put power over people by both hiding and highlighting is mind blowing and out-of-my-box. Hiding, by showing and molding the part you want people to see, mask yourself and change the truth. Highlighting, by emphasizing on ones’ character in simple form and complex content. Photography can seemly stop time, so can it devalue people or even create or change history.
After this activity, I see Photography differently and also learned another way to analyze multiple articles.
