Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) director David Haynes has recently created a new Committee on Inclusion, for which the poet Lesley Wheeler is acting librarian. Together, Haynes and Wheeler are compiling a list of resources addressing how to make writing programs more diverse. Wheeler has so far been linking to these resources on her website, which I’m linking to here and here. The most recent piece in the AWP collection is a piece Marlon James (above) wrote for Literary Hub earlier this month: “Why I’m Done Talking about Diversity.” Why not let’s all start there?
