Printed Matter reflection + sketch

2 books that inspired me:

This book named Little Pleasures. As the title showed, this book is tiny and only formed by a single piece of paper. I found that it’s interesting that its content matches with its form. The author writes the little pleasures in her/his life in the book. I never think about one piece of paper and fold it could make it a book, and especially this book is rich in content and form that readers would not think where of it lacks something. I want to learn how to match content and form and make a complete system of my book.

This interests me because the big contrast between its cover and what inside the book. The author talks about her/his memorable experience in Tokyo, and draws some illustration and puts some pictures into the book to make the content more vividly. But I’m shocked when I first saw its cover, and I believed many people would do as me. When seeing this image as cover, people would feel confused and disconnected. But I read the book and found out that the cover is about the material of Ramen the author ate in Tokyo. I find it’s interesting about how readers may confuse at the first sight because of the cover but then realize the connection after reading the book.
