Int Studio : Bridge 3 – Trap

Joan Miro

An spain surrealism artist who was mainly focusing on creating small symbols for different objects.

Such as the painting above, “Catalan Landscape”, Miro painted the bird at the bottom of the image. The bird was designed with a long mustache and an arrow shaped body with an traingular tail.

His sketches in black and white as well as black and red has strongly attracted my attention.

By the inspiration of symbols and lines of his drawing, I decided to made a trap with Miro’s idea in symbols and geometric lines and circles he did in most of his works.

  • Phone
  • Vehicle

By designed symbols of telephone and car, I made a trap of driving while texting. It was an ironic concept to let Miro guess what is the meaing of my project.

Final look if the Trap

Different perspectives and details

Just the trap itself is not enough. To bring more sketch-like feelings as a trap, I cast shadows on walls by having light on one side of this installation. The lines and circles, as well as the symbols I created appeared as a drawing on the wall by the effect of light.
