Street Scene: The Travel of the Dumplings in Chinatown.

This animation is based on the research, interview, and trip in the New York Chinatown. I thought dumpling is the most efficient and easiest way to represent characters of the Chinatown since dumpling is the traditional item of the Chinatown. Moreover, living various kind of people together with exotic cultural bases inspired me a lot. From this point, I thought that dumpling is such a nice object to represent what Chinatown looks like. Those different ingredients such as green onion, tofu, meat, and carrot which were mixed together, and wrapped with a round dough was similar to how Chinatown looks like.

  1. We all distributed our tasked by our interests. For instance, Dianna knows how to use
  2. We spoke to each other in persons to share each others’ ideas. And after this when we are clear with what we have to do, we shared files through Google Drive and Email. We also put comments or tell each others’ point of view through Wechat.
  3. We made and set the background settings and the models.
  4. I guess I controlled the entire concept of the animation through regulating each others’ ideas and specifying the flow of the story.
  5. Dianna was charged to combine all the pictures to make a video and put audio for the video. Chencheng and Mingyu did an interview and get information about Chinatown. Moreover, since Chencheng was our leader, she helped each tasked that we took.

  1. When I saw the final project, it was exactly what I imagined, but the way to create the result was quite different from the expectation. It was more rough and delicate. Moreover, it was hard to gather each others’ idea since each of us has a different way to think and perception.
  2. The quality of the final project fulfilled my expectation as well.
  3. As I mentioned earlier, there were lots of steps to create a short stop motion. Moreover, we had to
  4. The easiest to accomplish by working in a group was that it is possible to distribute our tasks by our interests or our availability which let us focus on our tasks more.
  5. As I said earlier, it was hard to combine and mix well each others’ ideas to create a better result. We had to listen and understand each other. Since we are in a group, we had to know how to adjust with the problems or troubles between us.
