Core lab | Final project: controller

Physical form – size, shape, materials. How it will be built.

I want to work within Unity to create an environment.

I will use headphones, two vibrating motors (one left, one right), joystick

Interaction – How it is used, what is the process. Beginning, middle, and end. Be specific.

When you bump into objects in the environment, that corresponding side of your head vibrates. You navigate using the joystick.

I haven’t figured out how I want the environment to look yet (possibly a maze), or what the driver will be, but it will be the conceptual part of the project. The rest (configuring the headset, attaching the sensors, joystick, sound, etc) will be simply coded and I will make sure they are working well.

Circuit – Draw a circuit schematic.

the arduino will plug into the computer as the power source and display monitor, the joystick and vibration motors will plug into the arduino, and the headphones will be connected into the laptop.

unsure about how the arduino could sense audio coming from inside headphones, but maybe there is something triggered in the unity world… ?

maybe use pixels on LCD to create an aerial map of the maze / environment
