East Village Outfit – Bomber Jacket Piece

As part of my outfit intervention, I incorporated a bomber jacket. The bomber jacket does hold a historical background within the punk movement before it was categorized as punk attire it first emerged in the 1900’s as air force uniforms which have been modified and modernized in today’s fashion culture. An example of this jackets modification through the influence of fashion is varsity jackets worn on students. The bomber jacket sometimes would have patches or souvenirs on the arm sleeves and even the front of the jacket, which I utilized for the representation of the east village. As I was inspired by this piece of clothing it allowed me to display specific aspects of the East Village and an overall working class look.
