Our objective was to create an abstract object and covering in order to convey a specific emotion. I chose the word suspicion to work off of.
In regards to the outer packaging, I wanted to create something that would mislead and provide a contrast to the actual object inside, so I tried to convey innocence through the pink color.
On the inside, I sewed a red satin pillow and added a gold ring to show opulence. However! The ring is a decoy.
I made a ribbon handle and wire poke out from under the pillow to signal that there is more underneath. Here, the suspicion would begin.
The final object reveal is a collection of wires in what I wanted to look like a bomb.
Upon further inspection, there is another hidden in the lid.
The abstract object was created from a broken radio chip. The pillow was hand sewn and the box painted.
