The Skateboard

For this class assignment we were tasked with creating an already existing object in a paper based form. I decided to create a downscaled form of my scale of my skateboard in detail.

Creating the shape of the board itself was not necessarily difficult, but once it came down to the attachments I began to struggle. The shape of the trucks was particularly difficult to replicate, as well as finding a way to keep the wheels attached to the paper trucks.

When it came down to creating the final version of my mini skate board, I decided to use construction paper of the most accurate color for my board, as well as layering them to emulate the plies of the board. To construct the trucks I attempted to use several materials to emulate the shininess of them, and ultimately settled on using foil to craft them. Unfortunately the wheels did not hold up on the foil since it was difficult to get a paper surface to stick onto the foil, but to make up for that I made sure to get the detailing of the board as accurate as possible.
