5 Days

Day 1

This video closely captures the action of ‘hunger.’ Shirley continually eats bread and finishes it as if she haven’t had food for days.

This video represents the emotion of ‘impatience.’ Shirley moves her fingers and makes repeating sounds of her finger knocking the wood table.

This video shows the emotion of ‘anxiety.’ Shirley moves her eyes quickly, blinks often times, makes a wry face, and bites her lips. All these facial expression portray her anxiety.

Day 2

Day 3

Shirley had to leave New York during this assignment, so we just shared the videos of ourselves singing. I went to Karaoke with other friends in our class and Shirley sang her song with the music in background since she didn’t get a chance to go to Karaoke in California. It was a fun and amazing experience to go to Karaoke with friends that aren’t Korean because I have always went to Karaoke with my Korean friends. Also, I felt shy and nervous singing a song in front of my classmates, especially when someone was taking a video of me singing. If there is a chance I would like to go to Karaoke with Shirley next time and share our favorite songs. However, when she sent me her videos, I really enjoyed listening to her singing in different language. I couldn’t understand the lyrics since they were in Chinese, but I liked her choice of music. She sang ballad songs that are about love and breakup. I thought her voice is pretty.

Day 4

Shirley made fried eggs with pepper. I told her that I like eggs and she made this for me. We aren’t both good at cooking so we both made simple food and shared. But, they both tasted good. We talked a lot and shared many memories of each other while answering the 36 questions sheet.

Day 5

I wrote her a letter because I wanted to share more thoughts with her. Since we didn’t spend much time together, I wanted to share more words with her through writing. I hope she likes it.
