Seminar Final Reflection for Shift

Personally, shift has always had a strong meaning to me. I have moved several times since I was 6 years old, including internationally. Changing and evolving has always made me who I am today and will make me who I am in the future. In Studio I was able to not only focus on ways in which I have shifted, but also how others have. I was able to expand my knowledge on not only myself and the people that surround my community, but also people outside of it.

In seminar I was able to reflect on these pieces and texts. I have learned about what shifting truly means in my life and not only physically, but mentally too. We learned about cultures and identities which I was then able to relate to in Studio projects, especially the Multiple Perspectives project. Overall in studio I was able to document the physical and mental ways I have shifted throughout my life and how I am currently shifting now that I have moved to New York. Moving forward I definitely would like to work with the concept of shift in my works and explore what that furthers means to me as well as what that means to others. I want to understand what the world needs to also follow this concepts of shift and how I can help it achieve that. For me this topic is more than a class theme but rather something I want to pursue in the future as I look ahead to my career as a business women, entrepreneur, and CEO of my own company. Shifting is an important aspect of life that must be understood in order to move forward which is why I believe a lot of people chose to come to this school. The idea of innovation and new is what is exciting and the future. I am glad I took this course and further verified how I feel about shifting.
