Wire is incredibly hard to work with. Over the years I have had my fair share of experiences with it to know that you need a distraction while working with it. When I first started started this project I was unsure how to approach the drawings. I chose to work with contour line drawing because I thought that they would be easier to translate into wire. I did around 30 of them and picked the best 11 to show. I did this because it takes a while for me to really warm up in contour drawings because sometimes they don’t end up looking like a hand. After that I felt confident enough to try to create them using wire. I did they freehand and looked to the drawings for reference to simply the drawing and also experiment with proportion. I couldn’t really decide which hand drawings to pick so I did two wire ones and one cardboard one. With the cardboard I want it to have a fuller form because I felt that with just the outline it would feel flat. So I filled in the outline with curled cardboard and created a tiered platform base. I over all really enjoyed this project and really like working with wire because of how it helps me not ever complicate my designs.
