Project 3: to see through

For this project I wanted to give my interpretation of a post-apocalyptic NY. The scene that I chose was a block in east village just down Saint marks. I hang out in east village a lot and always pass by these buildings. The reason I chose this area is because the vibe and characteristics at saint Marks tends to be grimy and edgy, so it’s perfect for a sort of eery Apocalyptic theme.

For the material, I wasn’t able to use enough color unfortunately, but I made sure I added as much detail to have my theme pop out. I mixed graphite and black pen/marker to resemble newsprint. I added some collage for debris floating in the sky. I made posters inspired by the vendetta anonymous masks with the caption “Trust”. A word I used for the apocalypse message, to “trust in the future and trust the importance of the circumstances.” According to the fictional leader who caused the Apocalypse.
