For this project, I focused on the process of tea steeping in a mug for about an hour. I chose hibiscus tea for a rich vibrant pigment so that I can document the movement and structure of the tea as it infuses the water. I took time-lapse style pictures each time I noticed a change. I also refilled the cup with new water at a certain point to use the rest of the tea left in the bag. After taking the pictures, I created some sort of flip book and cut the pages out to shape them like tea bags, the book showed the before and after process of my tea.
My goal for the project was top start simple and experiment with ideas. I was pretty unsatisfied with my results because I had many interesting ideas that I could have went through with, and I also had some good feedback from peers during the critique.
If I could change somethings about this piece, I would most likely give it more natural, organic looking designs, and I would pay more attention to neatness and precision.
