For this project, I chose Demo be to create a figure out of paper. I decided to create my interpretation of a fairy. It was a bit of a challenge but I ended up pleased with my results. I created a “robotic” style fairy creature in my own experimental style.
I chose black card stock to imitate a simplistic silhouette style. I first started by cutting out the shape of her body. I went for a slender curved shape. I cut two designs by folding the card in half and cutting out my traces.
I then cut up some filler to make her body appear 3D
I cut up her arms and legs
I then added a frilly skirt in an armer-like style
design the wings and cut it butterfly style.
This was the outcome
I then created some “boots”
I glued everything together with my hot glue gun
I did not include pictures of my process with her head. It was quite simple. I design it in an armor mask style and gave her spiky hair in the back.
