Week 4, studio , demo A

Armature and joint design

Puppet process

  1. I crafted my joints and body parts with clay and filler material(cardboard pieces)

2. I then painted them with Gesso and added designs of my choice

3. I used the fabric method in the Demo A tutorial. I used fabric pieces and glue to attach them together.

This is what my puppet-doll looked like before adding the feet.

Unfortunately, my process failed somewhat. The calves kept on falling off even though I glued them over and over. The feet stayed on well, and had a great kick motion. A trial and error process. Here is the video of how the figure moved. The one thing Id change, is the way I glued them. I felt my figure was too stiff, but I also was being extra gentle. If I had flared it around, it would move pretty well, but I was worried the other limbs might fall off.
