mask and materiality reaction

If I were to create my own disguise, or a mask to hide my identity, it would come from many aspects of

my own art and vision. I like to incorporate fiction with non-fiction a lot, which I have mentioned in

previous discussions. Yet the main thing I feel as though I focus on is fashion. Inspiration from

streetwear, fashion illustration which I often partake in, even though my major is illustration. Some may

ask why I am not interested in fashion design. I actually am very interested in fashion design, yet I am

more passionate about character design and storytelling within my illustrations. When you see my art,

fashion design/illustration will always make its way into what inspires me.

When I think of masks, I think fierce, mysterious, and anonymous. To where a mask, there is always

a purpose. A story can go in many different directions with the addition of disguise. A secret mission,

organized crime, slasher in a horror film, or perhaps a psychological situation based off of an insecurity.

The power of a mask, is to protect your identity. Why not make that fashionable?

The mask idea that I have created, is based off of a story of mine. The idea is of female warrior-like

figures. In the modern era of our world. With all the pain and suffering going on in this generation of

political war, we could use a story about some anonymous powerful women.

WARRIOR ANGELS ANONYMOUS:

Cyber-hackers, hit-women, spy-girls, and organized crime against the evils of discrimination that causes

unjustified death, rampage, and injustice. These young women would run this organization in a very

stealth discrete manner, that nobody would ever catch them. They hide in everyday life, in the most

unexpected areas and professions. Runway models, fashion designers, artists, dancers, sex workers, ecs.

The most criticized professions of women. There is a girl undercover as a super professional anonymous

injustice fighter, that does the dirty work, behind a mask.

For this story, I illustrated a mask. I took inspiration from couture, nu-goth and 2020 fashion aesthetic

with futuristic minimalist aspect. For material I would use leather for the straps and the mask itself

would be metal, with satin white fabric . The spikes and chains are part of the design aspect. And they

would be metal too.

Here is my illustration:
