I love music. It is a way for me to just clear my thoughts and just be taken away by the melodies. It has always been a huge part of my life-from simply listening to music to studying music. As a kid, I remember always having my portable CD player around with me. When the iPod came out I was ecstatic. However, it saddens me that CDs are becoming obsolete- to the point that I could not even find a pack of CDs in the drug store for this project. So, I thought that I could repurpose CDs into something they could be useful for again. For this necklace, I first put the CD in a microwave to give it a shattered design. Then, I used hot water and fire to easily cut and mold the CD into a necklace. The front and back are held together by jump rings, as well as the triangles to the front portion. It opens and closes with clasps I took from two old necklaces.
