Probably what everybody else thinks when they see a piece of wood.
We are limiting our attention span more and more each day without even noticing. Living the crazy life, schedules to keep on top of and things to check off from to-do lists.
Let’s slow down and pay attention.
This project was one of my favourite so far. It broadened my perspective on how we see things and how some details are hidden in the shell around them.
To be honest though, it needed a lot of digging and discovering.

As each layer revealed itself from its outer skin, it felt like digging to find a buried treasure.
Within the same block, discovering the early stages of the tree was quite unbelievable at first. But when you actually work your way through, it was just like a fog lifted from a mountain top.
The wood carving was followed by an ink drawing of the wood grain.
