YOU ARE WHO YOU SEE

This is a mask project for my 3d Studio and Seminar class. I wanted to make a twist on the idea of a mask by using a hand held mirror.

I strongly believe that everyone you see or  come across is a reflection of yourself and your soul. Either you like some aspects of them or totally feel opposite, they are a reflection of you.

The side that you look at is like a blurred out mirror representing the hand held mirror. The side that others see is like a persons face, just with the nose and a little bit of the upper lip.

On the left corner of the mask,  you can peek through and see the underneath structure which is wire and cardboard.

I wanted to test the reactions and examine the response of others when holding the mask so I took it on the streets of New York and handed it to strangers. Most said that they felt comfortable since it wasn’t awkward to stare at others.

I'm an artists in the making. I have thoughts under construction and feelings under protection.
