In the 18th century, ballet flat shoes were invented and the ballet superstar called Marie Taglioni have worn it to performance, then it became a cult accessory. Moreover, in the 19 century, Claire McCardell have redesigned the ballet shoes to an item for everyday wear. Then the ballet shoes have appeared on the cover of Vogue in 1949 and then many high-end brand designers started to remake the classic ballet shoes.
Furthermore, the main difference between the old ballet shoes and the new ballets shows is its function, material, and design. The old ballet shoes did not use complex materials, it is only made from plain wool and leather. The design is simple as well and it has a thick layer inside to provide softness. Comparing to the new ballet shoes, it has heels and it has more than two materials. The design varies from the brand, but the most popular brand that has redesigned the ballet shoes is ‘Repetto’. This brand has different colors and there are ribbons on the shoes. Also, the materials that the brand uses are more expensive and the inside layer becomes thinner for comfort to walk and wear for daily.

The suit has become a formal clothing in the victoria era and then it has developed into a more modern suit in the late 19th century. The piece shown above is designed by Yohji Yamamoto and the brand is also called by the name. The designer himself is a master in tailoring and he has reinterpreted the formal suit design. His designed suit became casual and comfortable to wear in. The suit has two layers of collars and the button is attached to a strap. Moreover, the pocket is invisible on the jacket, you bearly and notice it. It is considered a classic jacket from Yohji Yamamoto.

Masion Margiela’s tabi shoes were inspired by the Japanese traditional socks from 13 century and the workers’ shoes that have been worn. The first Tabi shoes were invented in the 1990s and it was also first shown at Martin Margiela’s first runway. The Tabi shoes are the most iconic shoes from Margiela and no one have ever copied his shoes’ design. Moving on, Tabi shoes are all mostly made out of leather and the front of the shoes are separated. There are varies of colors and functions with either with heels or not and you wear the shoes as if you are wearing a flipflop.

Chinese ‘Qipao’ is a traditional design and item from China. ‘Qipao’ was grown from the ‘Qing’ dynasty and it has become a daily dress in the 1920s in Shanghai. All women have worn it on daily basis and in the 1930s, it has become a modern dress and image of women in China. However, ‘Qipao’ has been dismissed by the communist party in the late 1940s. The shape of the ‘Qipao’ is close fitting to the person who is wearing and it has a cut on the side of it, and also a high neck closure with traditional Chinese design buttons. The design of the ‘Qipao’ is considered conservative and shows the body line and shape of women herself. The design is feminism and most of all the ‘Qipaos’ are made out of silk with varieties of colors and traditional Chinese patterns. ‘Qipao’ has become the closest traditional item to our century in China and may designers have referenced the layout in their designs. Moreover, now some people still wear ‘Qipao’ to formal events or family events.
