Idea

My chosen city is Barcelona, and its color is neutral colors but with a pop of bright colors. For my trouser, I made and design a pumpkin short, where it fits the weather in Barcelona. Barcelona has many natural places, for example, beaches. There are also many museums and streets fulfill with stores/markets, therefore I make it as shorts, so it is more convenient to be at the beach or market for a long distance walk. Moreover, this pumpkin short is made out of medium-weighted fabric, so it can show the gathering and stand the puffiness around the legs. I believe cotton is the base choice since it holds the puffiness and shows easily of the drapes. More so, cotton is not as thick as wool and it is suitable for Barcelona’s warm weather. Furthermore, I wanted to sew cushion flowers, however, it did not match my jacket design, therefore I changed it to hand-beading on the pockets. The beadings represent the sand from the beach, where sand is always moving, therefore forming different sand formations. As result, I sew the beads into different groups of pattern to represent the changing of the beach’s sand ground.
