The final video
⚪️Are our worths defined by others? Are our values defined by others?
These are the questions that I want to convey from this video. I want to bring confidence and more secure to others by conveying that we should not change ourselves because of other people’s judgments and because of your imperfects. People who are insecure about themselves that they should not be should embrace and be more confident.
The practice video- editing (one color theme)
For this practice video, the color theme I chose was black and white, since it can bring out a vintage feeling from it. The main focus was on the person going to a place and was thinking a lot of memories from the past. The person is finding something from her memories, and the hint has to do with water.
A brief explanation of Pudovkin’s 5 Basic Edits
From Pudovkin’s 5 Basic Edits, I have used mainly contrast for my practice video symbolism for my final video. The practice video I use contrast to convey the main character in the video’s present timeline, but thinking back at memories. Therefore using contrast to make the effect of bringing the viewers present and then her memories back and forward make it more understandable. For my final video, I mainly focused on my symbolizing because it is more of an abstract performance art, so many objects and the designs used in the video conveys a deeper meaning. A result, each object, and design are obvious at symbolizing something which let the viewers know and think of the concept of thinking and watching.

Reflection
I used mostly linear time in this project because it is the most understandable way to present the videos and the idea; it’s like the beginning and the result. I had the ideas in my mind and throughout developing it, I came up with some ideas, but focusing on one topic. Also, throughout filming it, I review and have made some changes as well. Therefore, making the storyboard is quite a little challenge for me, since I kept changing some small parts for the video. Moreover, find the right costume and lighting are very important to make the video consist and neat. The lighting has to stay the same throughout the video, or else if you have another different lighting, then they still have to match as well. Lastly, the costume need to go with your idea too, you have to think a lot about it to make successful that it either would not draw too much attention or it is the main attention in the video. All elements in the video have its purpose and need to film many times to ensure you will have the right scene to edit that can result a video that what you have imaged.
