Talking Pictures
In integrative studio, we have done a project that imitates the Talking Pictures Camera-phone Conversations Between Artists exhibition. In total, with a partner we have 36 pictures sent and my partner for this project is Zen. We have used our phones to upload images to a shared google drive and our main topic is daily life. Similarly, what The Met have shown was 12 artists asked to bring up a conversation with images for 5 months. The artists have sent each other photos, simple videos, and drawings. Moreover, there were all sorts of displays of their works, for example, ipad, posters, videos and etc.
During the process of our conversations, me and Zen decided to sent as much as we can when we have time. However, we balanced out by sending each other 1 photo per day and on the end we sent 3 photos per day. As result, each of us has 14 photos and total of 36 photos shown in our conversation. I think for the whole process, our controls are sort of even. Since,I have started to send the photo first and she replied, I controlled the beginning. But, in the middle of the process, I think we both have balanced out and she took control for the last picture.

Zen Koo and Lily Sun
The Met exhibition Talking Pictures: Camera-Phone Conversations Between Artists is two artists use images or two-dimensional art to communicate with one another. Inspired by the Met exhibition, students in Integrative studio have to pair up and accomplish a project that simulates the Met exhibition. Zen and Lily have total of thirty-six pictures by using phones to upload images to a shared google drive and started with the topic of daily life. During the process of their conversations, Lily and Zen decided to sent as much as they can; however, they balanced out by sending each other a photo per day. Overall, different elements like repetition, values, and more presented among these images that created the “talking pictures” by using pictorial fakes to express the reality.
Zen Koo (Chinese and Malaysian, born 1998) is a first-year student at Parsons School of Design, and is undeclared for her major.
Lily Sun (Chinese and Canadian, born in 1999) is a first year student of Parsons. I have lived both in China and Canada. The major that I am going in is fashion design.
