Visual Narrative Reading Response

Visual sequences can appear simple from first glance, however, a lot of ambiguity lies beneath the surface. There are many aspects of spatial and graphic structure and a navigational component that guides your eye through the sequence. There are also many theories  of narratives by past artists, playwrights, and cultures. Narrative units are made up by different panels, which serve as attention units to show conceptual ideas visually. There are five basics narrative structures: Establisher, Initial, Prolongation, Peak, and Release. They all serve as phases of constituency. They are vital to the visual understanding and structure of a narrative.  All of the pieces are necessary to know what is happening within the story. If one part were to be deleted, the panel would no longer make sense. Reordering also has an impact on the cohesion of a narrative. Global theories of narrative focus on how units play a role in relation to the broad structure, such as Aristotle forming a beginning-middle-end structure for the entirety of a narrative. There are many ways to create, show, and interpret visual narratives and sequences with a lot of factors contributing to it.
