Futurefarmers Exhibit Class Visit

Select one Futurefarmers project from the exhibition Arrange (or the catalog) and draw a map of the interconnected parts of the system or systems that the project describes or references. Research the project you have selected.

Write a 250-word text (a “didactic,” a “walltext,” or a “short story”) that describes what kind of research you think they would have had to do to make the project. Think about the actors involved, the materials used, the places in which each project was grounded, the kinds of systems that the project interfaced with. Think about the different forms of research – physical, material, archival, journalistic (interviews?) that would have gone into each piece. Drawing on the Donella Meadows reading, reference the the stocks, inflows, and outflows of the system. This short “didactic” w ill be read aloud in class in Week 4.

Extra Credit: Now look at your systems map, and imagine what would happen if you changed one element. How would the system change?
